Index Style
The homeport indexer assigned to your work will need the following information from you and any other relevant information you can supply:
Title of book, journal, research article or electronic data
How many authors
Target audience
Subject matter and the portions that should be indexed
New or revised index
Is it a final proof
Word count of document
Type size and leading
How many columns
How many illustrations
Page size
Formatting standards, for example, in-house style, Chicago Manual of Style
How will the index be formatted when the book is published
Number of index entries per page
Type of index, tabular or other
One index or multi indexes, for example name and subject indexes
Date finished index is required
Delivery format either email or electronic file transfer
