Quote of the day
"The fewer data needed, the better the information and an overload of information, that is, anything much beyond what is truly needed, leads to information blackout. It does not enrich, but impoverishes"

Digital and Analogue Recording Guidelines

When recording, there are ways of increasing the opportunity to create clear audio quality.
  • Have the microphone in close proximity to the person speaking
  • Use external microphones for recording
  • Avoid background noise, for example, secondary conversations and open windows.
  • Provide a list of speakers for transcribers
  • Provide a list of any technical jargon used
  •

These are simple guidelines but can make all the difference to a recording and allow a more rapid turnaround of work.

Analogue tapes can be sent to us and we will return the original recording, the transcript and email you a digitized recording that you can listen to on your computer.

The advantages of a digital recording are that you can do multiple back up copies.

Digital copies can be listened to on your computer using Windows Media Player, Real Player and other standard software.
